Conservation Area in Basingstoke, Hampshire

When your property is a "Designated Heritage Asset".

The Brookvale West Conservation Area was designated in 1999 and an Article 4(2) Direction on the area was served by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, in recognition of its special architectural and historic interest. Article 4 Directions cover particular areas and remove some or all permitted development rights. They mean that you need planning permission for works that do not normally need permission. Having designated the Conservation Area, the Local Planning Authority has a statutory duty to ensure that those elements which make up its special character or appearance should be preserved or enhanced, especially when considering planning applications.

Our customer lives in a "Designated Heritage Asset" on the Brookvale West Conservation Area and our team set to work to obtain planning permission. Basingstoke and Deane local authority approved Bygone Symphony ‘timber alternative’ to replace original timber frames.
