Semi-Detached Edwardian House in Basingstoke
Bespoke window designs and fine details to match original features for a virtually unchanged street view.
This Edwardian property had some ageing windows, painted repeatedly to cover cracks and flakes in the original paintwork. Unfortunately repainting the windows had also created some very messy and uneven paint lines. The windows themselves were also single glazed and not energy efficient, letting in a lot of the road noise and vibrations as traffic came past on the busy road outside.
After a free consultation and looking at some of our sample windows, the customer chose one of our Timber Alternative UPVC sash window ranges. Visually it was an excellent replacement with slim sightlines, a narrow meeting rail and Georgian bars to match the existing features. Finished with a wood grain finish you would really struggle to notice, even at close proximity, that the windows aren’t timber.
For the perfect finish, the installation team replaced the internal timberwork with all new window boards and architraves, and for the exterior they used a colour matched UPVC architrave to keep everything outside maintenance free.
The result is a warmer quieter home for our customer, with no detriment to the character of their home
